Laundry with 3 brand new washers and 3 dryers

There is one two-bedroom apartment in the building and it will rent for $1300

There are 3 efficiency apartments renting from $675 to $750.

There are 8 one bedroom apartments.  Their range is $800 to $1050.

Our income requirement is 3x the monthly rent in GROSS income. This means before tax. We would take into consideration all of the income from everyone contributing to rent.  So for instance, for the 2 bedroom apartment, income would need to be $3900. This income would need to be documented.

This is a NO PET building.


We have a $20 per month, per apartment convenience fee for trash.

Move in costs include $100 for cleaning, which is for when you move out.

Tenants will pay electric (heat is electric). We pay water and gas.

Each unit is heated and cooled by at least one Fijutsu Mini Split unit.  Click here for more info.

There will be 3 coin operated washers and dryers in the clean, new basement. There will also be a laundry tub and a folding table.

The windows all open and there are screens for the windows.

Shower rods will be provided.

There are cable outlets in each apartment  however, your television and internet packages are up to each individual.

Eventually, after 22 Lafayette is finished, we will develop the grounds and have it be a pleasant place for our tenants to enjoy socializing or relaxing.

We do not allow co-signing for our apartments.  Every tenant needs to be able to pay their own rent.

There will be plenty of parking for tenants on the grounds. Guests must park on the street.

Our ideal tenant is mature in nature, over their partying days, respectful of other's property, responsible, and responsive.

We communicate mostly through text and email, and hope for quick answers to our correspondence.

We deduct our rents by automatic withdrawal on the first of the month.


A little about our company:  MLM Residence Leasing is a small company with 9 rental buildings  with 40 apartments,  in the central Grand Rapids area, focusing on Heritage Hill and East Hills area.  It is a family company, with Mary Mishler the driving force and her son Michael who runs our maintenance team and is aided by Quinn, Sean, and Scott.  Mary's husband Mike pitches in to do some of the painting work.  Donna Batdorff is our Leasing Manager and the person most of you will deal with in the details of leasing an apartment from us. We respond quickly to maintenance issues (although hopefully our lovely new 28 Lafayette won't have any issues) with around the clock  urgent response, and a next day or sooner call back to schedule less important issues.
